Andrew Krulewitz is a second-year student at the Michigan - Ross School of Business. Prior to business school, Andrew worked as a Solar Market Analyst at GTM Research, the market research and consulting division of Greentech Media. During summer 2014, Andrew joined the battery storage networking start-up GELI (Growing Energy Labs Inc.) in San Francisco as a Summer Business Development Associate.

John comes to the University of Michigan and the Erb Institute after seven-plus years working in the finance sector, most recently as a Portfolio Analyst for Fisher Investments. John plans to use his time here to transition into the cleantech industry by applying the quantitative and analytical skills he has honed over the course of his career. More specifically, John is interested in finding sustainable energy solutions that satisfy the increasing demands of developing economies as they continue to industrialize. Upon graduation, John would ideally like to be involved on one side of the cleantech entrepreneurial equation—either by working in venture capital or by creating/working for a start-up. John holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Spanish from Nazareth College and hopes to use his language abilities in his future career. In his spare time, John enjoys reading, traveling, and the outdoors.

Pavel is an MBA/MS dual-degree student interested in renewable energy. Previously he worked for the Economy Ministry of Russia, where he was successful in drafting laws and bylaws in order to introduce mechanisms for long-term regulation of utilities with a $50 billion turnover, as well as introducing new mechanisms to stimulate housing and utilities companies to improve their performance, reduce corruption, and increase competition. His past experience also includes building macroeconomic forecasting models and tax policies evaluation. Pavel holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the New Economic School and a Master of Science from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

Josh is a 2015 MBA candidate interested in advising cleantech companies on corporate strategy and business development. Prior to moving to Michigan, Josh spent a year as an Analyst at Jet Capital Management in New York City and 3 years in Washington, DC as a Hamilton Fellow at the Treasury Department and as an Intern at the White House Council on Environmental Quality and the Brookings Institution. Josh has extensive experience analyzing energy and environmental policies. Josh holds a Master of Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

John is an MBA/MS dual-degree candidate with the Erb Institute at the Ross School of Business and is interested in renewable energy and sustainability. Prior to coming to Ann Arbor, John spent several years in San Francisco, California working first in public accounting before transitioning to Pacific Gas & Electric Company where he gained exposure to the utility industry, environmental remediation, and power generation. Through his participation in the Ross Energy Club, John has gained extensive experience in the energy industry by participating in a fall energy-storage consulting project, attending the annual energy conference, and working with his fellow peers and friends in the club. This upcoming year, John will be looking forward to continuing to shape and plan the Energy Project Finance course planned for Winter B 2015. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from the University of California Santa Barbara.

A native Los Angeleno, His passions include travel, writing and politics and he received his BA in Political Science from Yale University.

Yoshito is a 2015 MBA candidate. Prior to coming to Ross, Yoshito worked in the Energy Department of Japanese government and was in charge of addressing Fukushima nuclear accident followed by severe electricity shortage and resuming nuclear power plants. He also supported Japanese companies’ smart city projects in India, Thailand and Indonesia. Yoshito’s interest is collaboration between private and public sectors in energy industry. He is also good at making sushi.

Peter is an MBA candidate expecting to graduate in 2015. Prior to attending Ross, he worked on the Energy and Infrastructure team in the Bangkok office of a major U.S. law firm. In this role, he assisted foreign investors and Thailand-based companies with power-related M&A, development and project finance transactions in Asia. He advised on the first commercial solar power plant to be developed in Thailand (55 MW), including advising the sponsors on their U.S.$ 250 million project finance loans. In the summer of 2014, he interned in the finance division of NextEra Energy Resources, a leader in U.S. wind farm development. He holds a B.A. in Marketing and International Business from Michigan State University.

Brett Simon is an MS candidate at the School of Natural Resources & the Environment (SNRE) pursuing a degree in Sustainable Systems. Prior to coming to Michigan, Brett worked for the Town of Greenwich Department of Public Works as a Project Planning Assistant. His current interest in energy began during his undergraduate studies at NYU, and his goal is to work in the energy sector upon completion of his master's degree. He joined the Ross Energy Club last year and loves the multitude of events and opportunities offered by the club!
