About the Community Consulting Club
The Community Consulting Club is one of the Ross School of Business's most unique and popular student clubs. Each year, the club oversees 10 to 15 consulting projects that involve Ross students--both MBA and BBA--dedicating their business skills and acumen to helping non-profit organizations in southeastern Michigan address challenges such as strategic planning, marketing, operations, financial management, and human resources. Students gain invaluable experience while local non-profits receive expert business advice that they otherwise would be unable to afford.
What makes the CCC different from other clubs?
The CCC provides a unique combination of training and education, practical consulting experience, and the opportunity to make an impact on the local community.
- CCC is committed to helping non-profit organizations in the southeastern Michigan area, particularly those in Ann Arbor.
- Projects provide typical consulting experience by arranging teams of five or six people of diverse backgrounds to work together to understand the client problem, define the scope of the project, conduct research and analysis, and generate valuable recommendations.
- Members participate in a series of training seminars covering consulting skills and issues unique to non-profits. Training sessions are run by 2nd year MBAs and guest lecturers.
- Each CCC team is paired with a full-time consultant who acts as mentor and advisor throughout the project. Groups have weekly meetings as well as one-on-one interaction with their consultant mentor.
