We will explore how climate risks, such as the damage to assets from extreme weather events to the potential for changes in consumer behavior impact the economic sustainability of a firm. Then, we will understand financial and market instruments that can be deployed by the private sector to think beyond traditional ways of seeing shareholder value.

Michelle is an Analyst at CPI, based in Washington, D.C. Her main expertise area is climate resilience and adaptation and she is currently working on adaptation within the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance, on support through the Catalytic Climate Finance Facility for an African agricultural value chain focused blended investment fund, and on other work around UNFCCC climate finance negotiations and increasing climate finance access in Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Amanda is a Senior Program Associate in CPI’s London office (she’s aware of the time frame here and ok with the late hour – thank you, Amanda!!), where she focuses on implementing the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance portfolio, including portfolio management, tracking, and collaborating with creating go-to-market strategies for the instruments. Amanda also supports the Lab with stakeholder engagement and investor relations.
