Details

India Business Conference (IBC) is one of the largest conferences hosted at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. Each year, IBC brings together leaders from business and a variety of other fields, Michigan's world-class faculty, and its diverse student body. The 8th IBC will be held at the Ross School of Business, starting on Friday, March 24 (5 pm) and going through Saturday, March 25, 2017.

This year's event is exciting in terms of the unique combination of speakers that we have. We have leaders from large corporations and from fast growing new economy businesses. We have leaders who have expanded brands in India, and leaders from government and academia. This event presents a chance to learn lessons from them on what it takes to do business in India and with India. Speakers will also be shedding light on new and enduring challenges and opportunities

Having been invited to speak at Women in Technology, Girls in Technology, INROADS, YuvaShakthi, DreamScholars, Women of the World festival, she enjoys sharing insights on happiness, personal growth, entrepreneurship, womenÔÇÖs issues, and the potential of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). She has been featured on InPower, Toastmasters International Magazine, Huffington Post, and HelloGiggles.
Currently, at the US National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, she is responsible for creating and delivering the web strategy and future technological direction for a $30M division.She graduated from Anna University, India with a degree in Engineering. She holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from American University and an MBA from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business.

A true immigrant story, Shaily was born and raised in Mumbai and started her first venture in the first few months of first being in the US while at business school at the University of Michigan.
She started her company as an internship project with a grant from the Zell Lurie Entrepreneurial Institute while at U of M and since then has boot-strapped the company to multi-million in revenue and raised her first round of investment only when the company was set on a path of high growth. With a passion and drive to change K-12 education forever, her company has worked with over 40,000 students and currently has a network of over 600 teachers in the US with an upcoming launch in SE Asia.She is a Production Engineer with a MBA from the University of Michigan.

Anil is a member of the World Economic ForumÔÇÖs Stewardship Committee for the Initiative on the Future of Consumption, the Bretton Woods Committee set up by the World Bank and IMF to advise them on solutions to global challenges, and the CNBC Disruptor 50 Advisory Council. He started two IT based companies in Singapore in the areas of financial transactions and animation technology. He worked on large government projects with an aim to donate the surplus for funding citizen sector organizations. With accolades including the Kettering Alumni Award for Management Achievement in 2012, and Fortune Automotive Businessperson of the Year in 2014, Nair, joined Ford Motor Company in 1987, as a Body and Assembly Operations launch engineer. He quickly progressed to senior positions in Manufacturing, Product Development and Purchasing. He served as vice president of Operations, Asia Pacific, for three years before moving onto VP of Engineering for Product Development, where he oversaw all engineering for car, truck and SUV vehicles for the Ford and Lincoln brands. Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi represents the 8th District of Illinois, which includes west and northwest suburbs of Chicago,and serves on the Committee on Education and the Workforce. In addition, he serves on the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, including as the ranking member, and top Democrat, on the subcommittee on health care and financial services. Krishnamoorthi served as an Illinois Special Assistant Attorney General in the public corruption unit and as Illinois Deputy Treasurer before becoming president of small businesses in the Chicago area focused on the renewable energy sector. He and his wife, Priya, a physician, live in Schaumburg with their two sons and baby daughter.
