Joshua Edmonds
City of Detroit's Director of Digital Inclusion
Joshua Edmonds is the City of Detroit’s inaugural Director of Digital Inclusion and a Poverty Solutions Fellow at the University of Michigan. Joshua is responsible for developing a sustainable digital inclusion strategy to bridge Detroit’s digital divide. Joshua’s work intersects with public policy, telecommunications and public-private partnership building. While at the City, Joshua has testified in front of Congress on the matter of digital equity, hosted Detroit’s first Digital Inclusion Summit, and most recently, helped raise $23 million to provide every public school student with broadband and computers. Prior to his current role, Joshua served as a Digital Innovation Fellow at The Cleveland Foundation where he leveraged philanthropic and corporate funding to help address Cleveland, Ohio’s digital divide. Joshua also worked on President Obama’s ConnectHome initiative at the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority.
J'Taime Lyons
MBA/MPP '22
J’Taime Lyons is a dual degree MBA/MPP at the University of Michigan from Rocky Mount, NC. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Truman Scholarship, and has devoted her life to closing the opportunity gap and connecting schools with their communities. She currently is currently with Durham County on ensuring racial equity is centered within its Early Childhood Action Plan for all children birth to eight years old. She currently serves as the SAC chair for the Ford School, VP of Ally Engagement for the Black Business Student Association, and a Business + Impact (B + I) Ambassador at Ross.

Tech Week (11/30-12/4) is an annual conference held by the University of Michigan's Tech Club that brings together professionals, students, and alumni to discuss the latest industry and technology trends. The theme of this year's conference is Tech for Everyone, which is anchored in making technology and the industry itself accessible to all. Throughout the week, we will explore how inclusivity can be built into technology, from hiring diverse talent to creating more accessible products.
