Membership BenefitsThe Detroit Initiative at Ross connects University of Michigan students with the vibrant and evolving City of Detroit through an annual capstone Impact Conference, impact consulting projects with local nonprofit organizations, a mentoring program with Detroit high school students, on- and off-campus social and cultural events, and professional opportunities to engage with Detroit businesses.Discount access to club events and annual Impact Conference, scheduled for the 2020-2021 academic year on Friday, April 9, 2021.Detroit Impact ProjectsGraduate and undergraduate student teams work closely with local business on 12-week projects, using design-thinking principles to solve real-world business challenges.Social & Cultural Events:U-M students are invited to discover Detroit with R&B hosted events in the city including trips to restaurants, bars, museums, concerts, and sporting events. Professional Connections:DIR connects students with Detroit-area organizations for employment opportunities in various industries and functions including tech, energy, and art/creative startups; financial services, healthcare, automotive, and energy; and economic development, and city management.
