Catan Tournament + Game Den - WeGAME

Pause your studies and recruiting, and dive into pizza and an electric board game session with WeGAME at our inaugural event of the year, Catan! Renowned globally, Settlers of Catan engages players in resource collection and trading to construct roads, settlements, and cities aiming for triumph.

To celebrate the start of our club's year, we're rolling out a Catan tournament for those sweaty gamers eager to showcase their top-tier skills. If you're new or just want to spectate, we've got a dedicated space in the same room to acquaint newcomers with the game.

Simultaneously, we will have our "Game Den" in the same room. What's a Game Den? Throughout the term, WeGAME will organize these relaxed gaming get-togethers. Though we'll keep you refreshed with snacks and beverages, the core idea is to spend a delightful hour or two engrossed in games with fellow students. Our Game Dens will often have themes—be it strategy sessions, newbie-friendly 101s, social deduction, or video games. Our prime goal? Crafting a fun escape from MBA pressures, and bonding over shared game enthusiasm.

Because we are MBAs and time is precious, we will have to use a time limit for each game. Once the time limit is reached, we will finish the turn order so everyone has the same amount of turns by the end of the game. Additionally, each game will go to 8 points as opposed to 10. All other standard rules apply.

We will release the format and the cash payout of the tournament once we get the final numbers, but everyone will have the opportunity to play 2 games, and Top 4 will get cash.

Pizza, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
