This year, the conference's theme is 'Driving the Energy Transition: Organizations taking energy into their own hands.' As energy supply continues to become more decentralized, we are seeing a trend of public and private institutions and individuals procuring their own energy. This takes many forms, including but not limited to PPAs, green tariffs, REC procurement, or on-site generation. Some organizations view this transition to decentralized energy as a means of minimizing risk, others as a way to improve their sustainability performance, and others as a cost savings mechanism. The improvement in the economics of renewable energy sources like wind and solar are paving the way for organizations to bring energy into their own hands. This year's conference seeks to explore this trend and uncover how it is transforming the future energy landscape.
