We provide an opportunity for University of Michigan students to connect with Detroit's vibrant and evolving business, cultural, and social landscape through a variety of on- and off-campus events.
The Detroit Impact Conference is our annual flagship event attended by numerous U-M students and influential Detroit community members. The conference provides a unique opportunity for companies to interact with Ross graduate and undergraduate students interested in the city of Detroit and its broader economy.
We strive for impact by partnering with Detroit-based nonprofit organizations to tackle important issues and facilitate projects that provide value to a variety of organizations and communities in Detroit. Impact projects connect motivated University of Michigan students (including MBAs, undergraduate, and other graduate programs) with the partnering impact project organizations and provide students opportunities to strengthen consulting, project management, and communication skills.
Through a partnership with the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, we connect Detroit Initiative at Ross member volunteers with Detroit high school students to form mentor-mentee relationships. Our mentor program enables participating Detroit high school students to learn about business and develop core business skills to make a positive difference in their communities. Students will also gain advice on the college application process.
