RTC Welcome Back Happy Hour
Welcome back to Ross! Kick off the New Year with an RTC-sponsored happy hour! It will be a great opportunity to catch up with friends, find interview practice groups, chat about tech trends, get answers from MBA2s, and enjoy a cold beverage or two before classes and on-campus interviews get hot and heavy. Location is still TBD, but please RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount. See ya there!

Mock Interviewers Needed
RTC is looking for able and willing MBA2s to conduct mock interviews for MBA1s on Sunday, January 19th from 12pm-5pm. Please give back! For every hour you contribute you will be rewarded with a $10 Amazon gift certificate and lots of karma. Feedback templates and interview questions will be provided to volunteers closer to the event.

Tech Talk Speakers Needed
We are planning to continue our hard-hitting tech talk series into Winter A, but still need volunteers. Presentations are a free-form 45 minutes. They can be some combination of slides, YouTube videos and discussion—it’s totally up to you (see prior tech talks materials here). No prior professional experience in the topic is required, just some knowledge and passion. We’re looking to fill the topics below:

Other Events at U-M
- “The Internet Wins: How Hacker Culture Drives Creative Destruction”: Drop by the School of Information on Friday, January 17th from 3:30-5pm to see Dug Song U-M ‘98 grad and co-founder/CEO of Duo Security. He will talk about how the hacker culture of the Internet has also changed the way we innovate -- i.e. commercialized invention -- and created a new platform for economic growth through the globalization of tech culture, collaboration, and community.
- MHacks Winter 2014: “The most epic university hackathon returns.” MPowered Entrepreneurship’s third MHacks hackathon is scheduled over MLK weekend, January 17-19th in downtown Detroit. Teams of 1-4 can enter with the event lasting 36 straight hours. Though there is currently a waitlist, we’ve been informed more tickets may be released. Sponsors include: Yahoo!, Pinterest, Bloomberg, Apple, Andreessen Horowitz, Square, Yelp and Github. Check out the website for the intro and sign up!
