To momentarily escape the chaos of Winter A, a small group of us met downtown for dinner at Aventura, one of Ann Arbor’s best restaurants featuring Spanish cuisine. Conversation initially meandered among traditional topics such as summer internship recruiting, MAP, and spring break travel plans, before diving into the excitement of wedding engagements, misadventures, and sharing dreams for our future. And that is the importance and uniqueness of events like this—they give us the opportunity to slow down, to escape the hustle and bustle of the campus bubble, and to go deeper. We savored good food such as honey-covered cocas. We laughed together and learned more about each other's stories. We challenged and encouraged each other. In a word, we connected, which is something that is sometimes hard to do, even as professions in human capital.
