Nassar is originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and is focused on pivoting his career within the Sports/Venture Capital industry. In addition to BBSA, Nassar is VP of Consulting for the Sports Business Club, and a member of the Entrepreneurship & Venture Club at Ross. Prior to Ross, he sourced and underwrote alternative investments for family offices, endowments, and a large public investment firm. He loves all things sports, investing, and fashion!

Maya
Byrd

Maya is a Full-Time MBA student focusing on Human Resource strategy. After receiving her BBA from Howard University, Maya spent several years working in corporate finance before pivoting her career to human resources where she rotated through several roles before pursuing her MBA. In addition to BBSA, Maya sits on the board of the Michigan Business Social Association and her section, is involved in the Human Capital Club and Ldrx, and serves as a Student Ambassador. Upon graduation, Maya plans to step into HR leadership and will be spending the summer interning with American Express in their HR department. Outside of school, Maya is passionate about supporting black owned businesses, traveling, sneakers, and trying new restaurants and craft cocktails!

Originally from Houston, TX and worked in Dallas, TX prior to Ross, Ekom has spent the past 4 years working at Goldman Sachs in their regulatory division. At Ross, Ekom is involved in BBSA, Tech Club, the Sports Business Association and a Student Ambassador. Ekom has developed a strong interest in the intersection of technology, business, and sports and intends to pivot into the tech industry as a product manager. Outside of school, Ekom enjoys sports, traveling, and trying new restaurants!

Pettigrew

Cameron Pettigrew is a full-time MBA student from Chicago, Illinois and a former track & field student-athlete at the University of Southern California. Prior to coming to Ross, she worked as a Marketing & Communications Specialist at a global event planning company called BCD Meetings & Events. She plans on pivoting into brand management within the CPG industry after completing her MBA. Outside of her work and academic life she is passionate about community outreach and volunteering and has several hobbies including growing (too many) houseplants, video games, pole dancing, and travel!

Prior to Ross, Taylor worked in management consulting across various sectors such as human capital, public & private, and social impact strategy. Taylor currently holds an internship with a Michigan-based venture capital firm, is a Conference Chair for the Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Club (EVC) at Ross, and will serve as EVC Co-President next year. This summer '23, she will intern at Nike in their Strategy department.

Taylor is a full-time MBA candidate from Palo Alto, CA. Prior to Ross, she worked in Supply and Demand Operations at various notable tech companies in Silicon Valley and is now pivoting in to Brand Management during her Summer 2023 internship at Procter & Gamble. Outside of BBSA, Taylor is also the VP of DEI for the Michigan Marketing Club and the VP of DEI for the Ski and Snowboard Club. Outside of school, Taylor enjoys cooking, binging reality TV, and traveling (she's been to 6 of the 7 continents!).

Kourtney is an MD/MBA candidate from Valparaiso, IN. Prior to attending the University of Michigan, she completed her undergraduate education at Princeton University and a post-baccalaureate program at the University of Pennsylvania. In medical school, she has completed clinical rotations in the U.S. and Brazil, and has conducted research in the autoimmune skin disease space. This summer, she will intern in investment banking. Her long-term career goal is to work at the intersection of business and medicine in a global capacity. Outside of school, she enjoys hosting dinner parties, learning languages, exploring city centers, and Pilates.

Dominique is a full-time MBA candidate from Baltimore, MD. Prior to Ross, she worked in the financial services industry focused on improving trade operations and managing client relationships. In addition to BBSA, Dominique is the ambassador for the Dean’s Fellow program at Ross. Post - MBA she will be pivoting to management consulting, and this summer she will be interning at Deloitte. Outside of school, Dominique enjoys traveling, making tik toks and dancing!

KJ is a dual degree student studying a Master of Science in Information in addition to the MBA. Prior to Ross, KJ served in the US Army for 8 years. In addition, KJ spent his civilian career in operations and human resources at companies like Hyatt Hotels, Enterprise Rent-Car, and Amazon. KJ plans to pivot into product management career path. Along with BBSA leadership, KJ is the VP of Corporate Relations for the Armed Forces Association , VP-Allyship Engagement for Michigan Business Women, and also a startup founder/corporate sponsor for the Ross Living Business Leadership Experiences (LBLE). KJ enjoys scuba diving, writing poetry, long distance runs and enjoying good vibes with friends.

Originally from metro Detroit, MI, Latrece Williams is a full-time MBA student returning home from Houston, TX. Prior to Ross, she worked in the oil and gas industry doing marketing, strategy, and optimization. This summer, Latrece will be a brand management intern with Proctor and Gamble. Post-MBA she plans on launching her own venture. Outside of BBSA, Latrece is involved with ZLI’s Dare to Dream program, the Zell Lurie Commercialization Fund, and MoMBAs. Outside of school, Latrece loves podcasting with her best friend, trying new restaurants with her family, and enjoying the ever elusive and underappreciated nap.

Before coming to Ross, Nate gained extensive professional experience in clinical research, non-profit community engagement, and HR strategy. Nate is a current dual degree student with the School of Public Health; his career interests in health care include 1) Improving the patient experience within safety-net healthcare systems.; 2) Value-based care implementation.; 3) Health system transformation and clinical excellence. Outside of his role in BBSA, Nate has served as the Vice President of the Public Health Student Assembly at the School of Public Health and is an active member of the Consulting Club, Design + Business Club, and Healthcare & Life Sciences Club. Further, Nate enjoys capturing timeless memories on his film camera, traveling to national parks with his friends, and spending quality time with his family. Additionally, this summer 23' Nate will be interning at Strategy& (PWC) as a Senior Associate in the Health Transformation Practice.

Sean-Michael

Originally from Minneapolis, MN, Sean-Michael is a dual MBA and Master of Public Policy student at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. Prior to school he held a number of administrative and IT roles for healthcare and medical device companies—most recently an IT Business Systems Analyst at Medtronic. He is transitioning to consulting with a focus on energy, sustainability, and decarbonization, having interned at a clean tech startup during his first summer and will be at a consulting firm for his second summer. In addition to BBSA, Sean-Michael serves as VP of DEI on MBA Council and VP of Community for Ross’s new club, First Generation at Ross. Outside of work, Sean-Michael loves concerts and live music (Formation World Tour was the best), seeing the world’s natural beauty camping and hiking at state and national parks, learning to cook new foods, and playing video games.

John
Brown

John Brown is a full-time MBA candidate from Newport News, VA. Prior to Ross, John served as an Operations Officer for Headquarters, Marine Corps at the Pentagon. In that role, he collaborated cross-functionally across senior Defense Department personnel to develop and implement artificial intelligence/machine learning initiatives that assisted Marines make effective maintenance decisions in real-time. In addition to his time at the Pentagon, John brings more than two decades of Marine Corps experience in logistics and operational planning/execution. He also continues to serve in the Marine Corps Reserves.

As a MBA1, he served as a Section President, a Student Ambassador, the Entertainment and Media Club (EMC) AVP for External Relations, and a Business Beyond Usual podcast host. As a MBA2, his leadership roles include the BBSA VP of Communications, the EMC COO, and a Student Organizer for Reaching Out MBA.

John’s career interests focus on pivoting into Brand Management roles and he plans to migrate into the entertainment industry. Over the summer, John worked as a Brand Management Intern, The Clorox Company in Oakland, CA.

Andrea was born and raised in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and received her bachelors degree in Management Science from MIT. Prior to Ross, she held roles in sales planning & strategy at Constellation Brands and worked as a product manager at an alcohol e-commerce company, Provi. This summer she will be interning at PepsiCo in Brand Management for the Frito Lay portfolio. Outside of MMC she is involved with HBSA, BBSA, First at Ross, and Section Leadership. She also loves playing competitive volleyball.

Gopal is a full-time MBA candidate originally from Cleveland, OH. Prior to Ross, he worked in advertising technology sales at Criteo based in Boston, MA. He is pivoting into management consulting and is spending the summer at OC&C Strategy Consultants in NYC. At Ross, Gopal also serves as the VP of Corporate Relations for the Healthcare and Life Sciences Club, Events Chair for Maize and Brew, and Co-Head Writer for Follies at Ross. Outside of school, Gopal loves road cycling, trying new restaurants and breweries, and photography.
