Healthcare Markets and Public Policy
This course provides an overview of the economics and business of health care. The main focus will be on the financing and delivery of health services in the United States. The analysis of each part of the health care system will include a consideration of basic economic issues, key public policies and current market developments.
Strategy for Healthcare Organizations
This course applied advanced concepts of strategy to analyze, understand and craft winning strategies for organizations competing in the health care industry. Organizations addressed include hospitals, long term care/hospice, insurance, biotech and pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
Commercialization of Biomedicine
This interdisciplinary course introduces graduate students to the key issues faced by companies attempting to bring science and technology innovations in biomedical therapeutics, devices, and diagnostics to market.
For students interested in receiving a formal designation that recognizes their healthcare specialization, Ross offers the Healthcare Management Concentration. The concentration requires 12 credits of healthcare course work (about 6 or 7 courses) that can be achieved by taking healthcare courses at Ross or any other healthcare-focused graduate course at the University of Michigan.
